More Design Your Own Paper Beads

I am very excited to be developing this new class. Here are some more of the examples of how to embellish paper beads. Once the basic bead is made it can be embellished so many different ways. At usual, all the beads are dipped and sprayed to ensure durability and water resistance. The secret is in using red line tape. It is an amazing double sticky tape that ready holds things in place.

ANNOUNCING A NEW CLASS

Design Your Own Paper Beads!
I have created a new class where students learn 5 or 6 different ways to design paper beads. They then will make a stretch elastic bracelet from their beads. The different techniques involve markers, paint, fiber threads and other objects. Lots of fun but a little more advanced!

Circle Flea Market

My stand at the Flea Market! I try and go every Sunday that isn't raining. This past week was HOT!!! Sometimes I sell tons and other times nothing! It's fun to have people stop and talk about the jewelry. I make sure they get a card even if they don't buy anything.

As you can see by the photos, I have also branched out to tye-dye articles and even decorating purses.

Paper Bead Class Press Release

NEPA Artisan to Teach Paper Bead Class in Springfield, MA

Moscow, PA resident Michele Holmes to teach classes on The Art of Paper Bead Making. She will be a guest teacher at Simply Beadiful, a bead store, in Springfield, MA on July 17.

Moscow, PA June 16,2010-- Local artisan Michele Holmes will teach two classes on The Art of Paper Bead Making at Simply Beadiful, a bead store, in Springfield, MA on July 17. Michele began making paper beads more than 10 months ago and started a home-based company called Re-Art. The motto of the company is to Re-Design, Re-Cycle and Re-Purpose household items. With rolls of wrapping paper in the closet, Michele began cutting them into strips, rolling them into beads and finishing them to be durable and water resistance. “I have been decorating and re-designing clothes, purses shoes and jewelry for most of my life.” said the Moscow, PA resident. Concocted with a friend after various experiments, the recipe for finishing the paper beads is unique. Finished beads can be made into jewelry or craft items that do not require washing.

Teaching a class was the next step since people continually commented on the beautiful jewelry and asked how to make the beads. At present, Michele has taught a paper bead making class at two area bead stores and private classes at peoples’ homes. While on vacation, Michele approached Simply Beadiful owner, Dawn Davis, about teaching a paper bead class in her bead store. Dawn added the class to her schedule and the class sold out almost immediately. Now Michele will teach two classes on Saturday, July 17 at Simply Beadiful in Springfield, MA.
